SUPPRESSING HUNGER ON A JUICE DETOX DIET
Juice detox is a tough method to stick to when losing weight. Many people get hungry while on their detox diet and look for something to suppress the hunger.
Some people may choose appetite suppressant diet pills to make it a bit easier to go through a juice detox process, but be warned : These diet pills are not safe for someone who is basically drinking sugar, antioxidants and vitamins. Diet pills like Phentermine (available by prescription only) and Phentramin-D (a popular non prescription alternative) not only suppress your hunger, but they also boost energy. The concern here is that the non prescription versions like Phentramin-D contain a hefty dose of caffeine.
Juice detox can also reduce blood proteins and affect the way prescription and non prescription diet pills interact with the body. While a juice detox on its own is fine for most people, if you're taking any diet pills or other medications, prescription or non prescription, always consult with your doctor before starting a juice detox.
If you're using a diet pill that contains caffeine, or has amphetamine like effects (like Phentermine has), then make sure to drink extra water, as these diet pills are diuretic, meaning they cause you to urinate more often due to expelling more water from your body. This can lead to dehydration.
Since juice detox usually only lasts for a few days, most diet pill users will stop using diet pills while they are on the detox. This is what we recommend to ensure your health and well being.
